The biggest festival of Bengal, Durga Puja is only 28 days to go. Now, the thrill of puja is flowing all over the bengal and this festive fever has gripped West Bengal with locals thronging markets.

In the eastern and northeastern states of India, Vijayadashami is observed as Bijoya Dashomi, immediately after Nabami, marked by a great procession where the clay statues are ceremoniously walked to a river for a solemn goodbye to Devi Durga. Women mark their faces with sindoor and greet each other. All family members gather on that day to celebrate this auspicious occassion.It is a very painful day for many atheist Bengalis as they have to wait again for long one more year.
